Packers-Vikings Injury Report: Burnett out, King doubtful, tackles questionable

We’re feeling better about the Packers’ injuries on offense for week six, but the same can’t be said for the defense.

The Green Bay Packers were certainly hoping for a big batch of good news on the injury front this week, at least on offense where it appears possible that the team will have a starting offensive line intact for the first time all season.

On Friday, there is reason to be hopeful on that side of the football, but also plenty of cause for worry about the state of the Packers’ defense.

The Packers ruled both of their starting offensive tackles as questionable for Sunday’s game today, along with running back Ty Montgomery, who is working to return from broken ribs suffered two weeks ago.

However, there are a few key players on the defense who appear likely to be sidelined. First is safety/linebacker/slot corner/communications director Morgan Burnett, who has been ruled out with a hamstring injury. Burnett has worn the communications helmet for the Packers throughout most of this season, and the team will need to determine a replacement for those duties with him sidelined on Sunday.

Likely to join him on the bench are rookie cornerback Kevin King, who suffered a concussion last Sunday, and veteran edge rusher Ahmad Brooks. Brooks is dealing with a back injury, and both of those players are listed as doubtful for week six. There is another injury in the secondary — cornerback Davon House is questionable with a quad injury — but he had the same status a week ago and was able to play for most of the game.

Here is the Packers’ report for this week.
