Because the Green Bay Packers have not dealt with enough drama yet this year, there now is a player facing legal trouble after a poor decision from a few weeks ago.
That player is rookie running back Aaron Jones. As Michael Cohen of Packersnews.com reports, Jones was pulled over for speeding, admitted to smoking marijuana, and faces three charges. One involves operating a vehicle under the influence of a controlled substance. The traffic stop reportedly happened on October 1st.
Jones will likely face discipline from the NFL as a result of this scenario, most likely a suspension to take effect at the start of next season. The league tends to wait until after the legal system runs its course.
Teammate Geronimo Allison was suspended for the opening game of the season as a result of a marijuana-related charge this season as well.
Jones is currently injured, dealing with a sprained MCL. He was inactive for Sunday's game against the Ravens due to the injury, which he suffered early in the previous game against the Chicago Bears. He had started the previous four games, including the Bears contest.
