The Green Bay Packers likely will not avoid Jameis Winston when they play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. According to the Tampa Bay Times' Rick Stroud, Winston will practice Wednesday and, barring a setback, will start this week against the Packers.
Winston missed the Buccaneers' previous three games with a shoulder injury. The team has gone 2-1 during that stretch with veteran backup Ryan Fitzpatrick under center, a marked improved over the 2-6 record Tampa Bay posted with Winston at the helm. Still, Winston remains a talented passer who can take over a game under the right circumstances.
While Winston returns to action, the Buccaneers placed starting right tackle Demar Dotson and starting center Ali Marpet on injured reserve. Tampa's offensive line had already allowed 20 sacks this season, suggesting the Packers could have success getting to Winston on Sunday.
So far in 2017, Winston has completed just over 61 percent of his passes for 1,920 yards, 10 touchdowns and six interceptions, good for a passer rating of 87.3.
