On Thursday, the Green Bay Packers announced their first injury report for week nine in advance of their Monday night game against the Detroit Lions. While there was some good news to be found, there were still a few key players unavailable even after the team's bye week.
The big surprise on the did not practice list is tight end Martellus Bennett. Bennett has played every game this season and has not shown up on the injury report, but he sat out Thursday's practice with a shoulder injury.
Joining him as a non participant were a few players on defense, including safety Kentrell Brice and linebacker Ahmad Brooks.
However, Morgan Burnett and Lane Taylor both returned to practice, with both being limited. Head coach Mike McCarthy said that Burnett would get the communication helmet back this week, an encouraging sign for his availability on Monday. Meanwhile, if Taylor returns that should give the Packers their full starting offensive line for just the second time all season.
Heres the full report for Thursday.
