On Sunday, the Green Bay Packers got a boost of good news for their banged-up secondary. After failing to suit up for practice all week long, veteran cornerback Davon House is active for today’s game against the Cleveland Browns, which will help the defensive coaching staff keep the reps for undrafted rookies down in today’s game.
The news is less positive for the pass rush, as linebacker Nick Perry is one of the inactive players. Perry also failed to practice all week long, but he was listed as questionable compared to House’s doubtful designation. This likely means more reps for Ahmad Brooks, Kyler Fackrell, and Vince Biegel opposite Clay Matthews.
The Browns are dealing with significant injuries of their own, however, also primarily on defense. Two starters were game-time decisions and are inactive: safety Jabrill Peppers and nose tackle Danny Shelton. That should make for a bit easier sledding for Brett Hundley and the Packers’ offense this afternoon at FirstEnergy Stadium.
Here are the inactives for both teams.
