The Green Bay Packers will play their final home game of the 2017 season without two of their top pass rushers as Nick Perry and Clay Matthews were left inactive for Saturday's matchup with the Minnesota Vikings.
Perry has dealt with ankle and shoulder issues of late while a hamstring injury will keep Matthews off the field. The Packers added second-year pass rusher Reggie Gilbert to the 53-man roster on Friday, foreshadowing the status of Perry and Matthews. Gilbert has yet to appear in a regular-season game.
Early in the week, the Packers ruled out Davante Adams who remains in the concussion protocol. Adams absorbed a brutal illegal blow to the head from Carolina Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis last week that sidelined the wideout for the remainder of the game. Adams could return to the fold next week for the Packers' season finale against the Detroit Lions.
Of course, quarterback Aaron Rodgers will also miss Saturday's game after the Packers placed him on injured reserve. Rodgers played a week ago after receiving medical clearance on his shoulder, but with the team no longer in playoff contention, he returned to IR to continue his recovery.
