With Saturday’s loss to the Minnesota Vikings dropping the team’s record to 7-8, the Packers now sit in an exact tie with Washington for the 14th pick in the draft. Both teams have matching 7-8 records, and both have an equal strength of schedule (0.5375). If there were to be a tie at the end of the season, the higher pick in round one would be decided by a coin flip, with the teams alternating back and forth in later rounds of the draft.
The Packers are also matched up on record with the Arizona Cardinals. However, Arizona holds the 13th pick by virtue of their weaker strength of schedule. If Packers fans want a better pick, then we should be pulling for Washington, Arizona, and the 6-9 teams in week seventeen — particularly the Miami Dolphins, who have a stronger strength of schedule than the Packers.
If all of those teams win and the Packers lose, they could raise up as high as 12th. Washington is currently favored over the Giants, while the Dolphins are three-point underdogs at home to the Bills and the Cardinals are 8.5-point underdogs in Seattle.
Here’s the full order through week 16.
