It’s going to be an interesting Sunday for Dom Capers and the Green Bay Packers’ defensive coaching staff.
The Packers are going to be without several key players in their defensive secondary in tomorrow’s game against the Cleveland Browns, and young undrafted rookies will likely be playing significant roles. In addition to placing Kevin King on injured reserve in recent days, the Packers announced their injury report on Friday, which has a pair of cornerbacks showing up.
One is cornerback Demetri Goodson, who was brought back from the Physically Unable to Perform list when King went on IR. Goodson has not yet played in a game, but has been ruled out for Sunday with a hamstring injury. Meanwhile veteran corner Davon House has a shoulder injury and has not practiced all week and is listed as doubtful.
With those injuries in mind, look for Lenzy Pipkins and Donatello Brown to get significant reps on Sunday to help supplement prospective starters Damarious Randall and Josh Hawkins.
Another notable injury on defense is to Nick Perry, who also has not practiced due to foot and shoulder problems. However, he is listed as questionable and appears to be a game-time decision.
For the Browns, several players will be gameday decisions as well, including safety Jabrill Peppers, who is listed as doubtful, and nose tackle Danny Shelton, who is questionable.
Here are the full reports for both teams for week 14.
