For the last four years, Datone Jones has been a contributor for the Green Bay Packers’ defense in a variety of roles. Initially, he played the 5-technique defensive end position before eventually moving to the hybrid “elephant” linebacker/interior rusher spot.

Jones was an unrestricted free agent this offseason, and a few days ago he signed a one-year contract with the Minnesota Vikings, for whom he will play in 2017.

On Friday, Jones tweeted a message to the Packers organization and to their fans, thanking them for their contribution to the early part of his career:

In 2015, Jones had one of his best career games against the Vikings, when he recorded two sacks of Teddy Bridgewater in a 30-13 victory at TCF Bank Stadium. That game is one of two in his career with multiple sacks.

We wish good luck to Datone, except for in those two games each year he plays against the Packers.
