The NFL released the full 2017 regular-season schedule on Thursday, including the 16 game dates for the Green Bay Packers. The team will kick off the year at Lambeau Field with a tilt against the Seattle Seahawks.
As one of the premier attractions in the league, the Packers appear in five prime-time games including a rare Saturday date during the 2017 season. The earliest such contest comes on Sept. 17 against the Atlanta Falcons, which opens up the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Green Bay also plays its required tilt on Thursday Night Football during Week 4, a home matchup with the Chicago Bears.
The timing of the bye week ranks as one of the critical features of any schedule. This season, the Packers receive their time off during Week 8. That compares favorably to last year when the team received a Week 4 bye, the earliest possible slot.
The Packers close their season against the Detroit Lions, a rematch of 2016’s NFC North-deciding finale. Like last year, the game will take place on the road at Ford Field.
The Packers’ 2017 opponents since the conclusion of last season. As always, they face off twice against each of their division rivals -- the Bears, Lions, and Minnesota Vikings. Additionally, the NFC North faces off against the NFC South and AFC North this season. Because Green Bay finished atop the NFC North standings, its two intraconference games based on standings come against the Seahawks and Dallas Cowboys. The latter contest takes place at AT&T stadium during Week 5.
