UPDATE: Packers 2017 schedule is here!
It’s schedule release day around the NFL, as fans eagerly (or maybe not-so-eagerly) await the announcement of the schedule for the 2017 season. Of course, some details of the schedule are leaking early.
For example, Mike Francesca of WFAN in New York City read out what he says is the entire New York Giants’ schedule on his radio show today.
For the Packers, we are starting to see rumblings about the schedule, but one game has been reported by national sources: the season opener. And it’s a doozy:
#Packers will open up the regular season at home against the #Seahawks, sources told @RobDemovsky and I.

That’s right, the Packers and Seahawks will renew their rivalry to open this season, and for the third straight year the game will be played at Lambeau Field in Green Bay. The home team has won every time these teams have met since 2008, with the Packers winning at Lambeau in 2009, 2015, and 2016, and the Seahawks winning in Seattle in 2012, 2014, and in the 2014 NFC Championship Game.
The Eddie Lacy factor should add a little extra intrigue to this premier matchup as well, as the former Packers running back signed with the Seahawks as a free agent this March.
Schedule Rumors
Week 2: Other rumors are swirling, but one that is gaining traction is that the Packers are expected to travel to Atlanta in week two, where they will play the Falcons at the brand-new Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Sunday Night Football. This report comes from Mike Bell of 92.9 The Game in Atlanta.
Week 4: Reports are surfacing that the Packers will host the Bears for Thursday Night Football in Week 4 (source)
