One of the toughest positions to judge on the Green Bay Packers’ current roster is at cornerback. The team has only two healthy players who currently appear to be locks for the 53-man roster: Quinten Rollins and top draft pick Kevin King. Meanwhile, a pair of key players remain sidelined with injuries as Davon House nurses a hamstring problem and Damarious Randall is in the concussion protocol.
With those players’ snaps up for grabs among a glut of undrafted players — ranging from rookies to third-year players — there has been little separation from any one player that should make fans think that anyone has an advantage for a 5th or 6th spot on the team.
LaDarius Gunter and Josh Hawkins are the two with NFL experience, but neither has impressed in camp. Are Raysean Pringle or Lenzy Pipkins or Donatello Brown doing enough to supplant the veterans at this point? All five should see significant playing time on Saturday in Washington, and the performances in preseason games will go a long way to determining who ends up on the 53.
Check out those items and much more in today’s curds.

This is a good sign for the receiver and a not-so-good sign for the defensive backfield. But if Adams is already in top form, he should have no trouble hitting that 1,000-yard mark that he so narrowly missed last season.
Packers trying to slot LaDarius Gunter back into CB competition | Packers Wire
This article argues that this is the Packers' final effort to get something out of Gunter, who has failed to impress on the outside this season. Unless he turns something around quickly, it's quite possible Gunter will be let go at final cuts. With Josh Hawkins’ struggles as mentioned in the Adams link above, the door is wide open for an undrafted rookie to steal a spot on the roster.
Inside linebackers still have a home in Packers' defense | Packers.com
With Morgan Burnett and Josh Jones taking snaps and drawing the big headlines at linebacker, it's easy to forget about the more traditional players at the position: Jake Ryan, Joe Thomas, Blake Martinez, and Jordan Tripp. However, all have been putting together nice training camps, and it's not hard to see them keeping all four on the roster.
