The Green Bay Packers already knew they'd take the field for Saturday's preseason game without a few starters. However, in a surprise development, free safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix became a late scratch due to some soreness in his knee.
Clinton-Dix practiced all throughout the week leading up to the Packers' exhibition matchup with the Denver Broncos, giving no indication that he might not play. The decision to keep him off the field appears just a precautionary move in order to ensure the Pro Bowl safety starts the regular season at full health.
Besides Clinton-Dix, the Packers will play without starters Bryan Bulaga and Davon House. Bulaga sprained his ankle during practice early in the week and the team expects him to miss the remainder of the preseason. House has dealt with a hamstring issue since training camp and has yet to appear in a game since re-signing in Green Bay.
Below is the complete list of Packers not participating in Saturday's game.
· CB Davon House
· S Jermaine Whitehead
· CB Demetri Goodson
· RB William Stanback
· OLB Vince Biegel
· ILB Jordan Tripp
· OL Don Barclay
· OT Bryan Bulaga
