Will the game actually happen this year?
12 months after the Green Bay Packers and Indianapolis Colts were scheduled to play in the Hall of Fame Game — and saw the contest cancelled due to field conditions — the NFL is set to play its first game of the year this evening. This year’s event pits the Dallas Cowboys against the Arizona Cardinals on national TV to unofficially kick off the 2017 season.
The Packers will actually be practicing in Green Bay during kickoff of this game, as they will need to wait another seven days before starting their preseason, as they kick off against the Philadelphia Eagles next Thursday evening. However, their first opportunity under the lights will come on Saturday during Family Night.
