The Green Bay Packers led 14-3 at halftime of their final preseason game, but more important the score of the game is keeping the team healthy.
Unfortunately, the team saw one notable player leave the game with an injury late in the first half as Brett Hundley led the offense down to the goal line. Wide receiver Geronimo Allison took a hard helmet-to-helmet hit from Rams safety John Johnson on a reception over the middle near the end zone. Both Allison and Johnson went to the locker room immediately, and both are being evaluated for potential concussions.
Until that point, Allison had led the Packers with three receptions in the first half, picking up 27 yards through the air. He also added an impressive would-be touchdown catch, on which he leaped over a Rams corner to make a play on the football. Unfortunately that play was erased by a penalty on offensive lineman Adam Pankey.
Allison is a sure bet to be a contributor this season, but will already miss week one’s game. He is suspended for the first game of the regular season as a result of a charge for marijuana possession from last year.
