In the first half of their season opener against the Seattle Seahawks, the Green Bay Packers suffered one notable injury. Outside linebacker Ahmad Brooks, one of the team’s recent acquisitions in the last week of the preseason, is being evaluated for a concussion, the ream reported.
The Packers’ defense has overall performed remarkably well early on, holding Seattle to under 50 yards through the first 29 minutes of the game. Brooks played periodically throughout the first half, substituting in for Clay Matthews and Nick Perry, primarily at the strong-side outside linebacker spot. Brooks recorded one assisted tackle early.
The Packers trail 3-0 coming out of the halftime break, and have had trouble moving the ball on offense.
The Packers will need to rely on second-year pro Kyler Fackrell and rookie edge rusher Chris Odom in the second half if Brooks is found to have a concussion. Stay tuned to APC for more updates throughout the game.
