Packers-Falcons Injury Report: Bakhtiari and Daniels join Bulaga with Questionable status

After a relatively healthy week one, the Packers have several notable players on their Friday injury report leading up to a tough game in Atlanta.

It was a foregone conclusion that Green Bay Packers offensive tackle Bryan Bulaga would show up on this week’s Friday injury report. Bulaga, who missed the team’s week one win over the Seattle Seahawks, continues to work back from an ankle injury and has been sent home from the team’s facilities multiple times this week due to flu-like symptoms.

However, Bulaga is not the only Packers player whose status for Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons is in question.

The Packers listed seven players on this week’s Friday injury report, four of whom are essentially starters and another two who play key backup roles. Joining Bulaga with the questionable tag are a pair of the team’s brightest stars in the trenches: left tackle David Bakhtiari and defensive tackle Mike Daniels.

Bakhtiari pulled a hamstring late in last week’s game, and although he did not miss any time in that game, he has been limited in practice all week. With backup tackle Jason Spriggs already ruled out for Sunday, the Packers would have had just a single healthy tackle — Kyle Murphy — had they not called up Adam Pankey from the practice squad this week.

Meanwhile, Daniels had a hip issue flare up in Thursday’s practice, limiting him in practice. However, despite his questionable tag, he expressed confidence in his availability on Twitter Thursday night:

Another notable player showing up late is Kentrell Brice, the Packers’ third safety. Last week against Seattle, he played nearly every snap as the Packers used the Nitro personnel package — a nickel grouping with Morgan Burnett lining up at inside linebacker — on essentially every play. If Brice would be unable to go, the Packers would be forced to use Marwin Evans or Josh Jones in his spot, as the Nitro is likely to be a critical component of their defensive game plan against Atlanta.

The Falcons, by comparison, had a few players listed on Thursday’s participation report as limited, but only one individual was given an injury status on Friday. That player is rookie running back Brian Hill, the team’s third back behind Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman.

Here are the full injury reports for both teams.
