One week ago, the Green Bay Packers were a consensus top-two team in the NFL. Seven days later and following a loss to the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday night, the Packers have predictably fallen off their perch at or near the top of the NFL power rankings. However, the analysts who put together those rankings appear to be taking the circumstances of that loss into account.
Overall, the Packers dropped an average of 4-and-a-half spots from last week, across four main ranking lists, but that still leaves them squarely in the top ten — and in one case, still in the top five.
Ultimately, the Packers lost to one of the best teams in the NFL — the Falcons jumped to number one on two of the four lists — and lost by 11 without four of their very best players.
