The Green Bay Packers have lost a second player to the waiver wire on Sunday. Shortly after news broke that quarterback Taysom Hill was claimed by the New Orleans Saints, ESPN’s Adam Schefter revealed that the Dallas Cowboys claimed defensive tackle Brian Price.

Price had been battling all preseason long with Christian Ringo for the Packers’ fifth spot on the Packers’ defensive line. The Packers kept Ringo on the roster in that spot on Saturday, likely hoping that Price would be able to make it through waivers and onto the team’s practice squad once again.

Instead, Price will join a Cowboys team that has question marks on the defensive line, and particularly at tackle. The Cowboys’ presumed starters are Maliek Collins and Cedric Thornton, but pass-rushing tackle David Irving is suspended for the first four games of the season for PED usage. Therefore, Price may be a key depth piece for Dallas early in the season until Irving returns.
