Wednesday marked the final day of official visits between NFL Draft prospects and NFL teams, and the Green Bay Packers were still active through the final day.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Packers hosted Texas offensive tackle Connor Williams on a visit on Wednesday to close out their visits. Williams, who is seen as a potential first-round draft pick, played left tackle for the Longhorns and started there all three of his years in Austin. However, his 2017 season was affected by injury.
Although he played tackle in college, Williams may be a candidate to play guard in the NFL. His testing numbers from the NFL Scouting Combine put him right around the Packers’ ideal numbers for offensive linemen. His agility numbers are solid for a 6-foot-5, 296-pound lineman, posting a 4.63-second short shuttle and a 7.83-second 3-cone.
With the Williams report, we now have the names of 26 players who have reportedly visited the Packers in the pre-draft phase, though the team has 30 official visits to use. Williams is the fifth offensive lineman in that group, joining Hawaii’s Dejon Allen, Arizona’s Gerhard de Beer, USC’s Nico Falah, and UCLA’s Kolton Miller.
