Green Bay Packers fans got the news that wide receivers Geronimo Allison and Randall Cobb would be out for the team’s Monday night game against the San Francisco 49ers around mid-afternoon. That was confirmed this evening when the Packers announced their list of seven inactive players for the contest, but the list also shows another set of key players who will miss the game, particularly on defense.
Joining the two receivers in street clothes tonight will be a pair of cornerbacks: rookie Jaire Alexander and veteran Bashaud Breeland. Alexander will miss his second straight game with a groin issue, while Breeland continues to await his Packers debut while dealing with a hamstring injury.
Thankfully, however, the Packers will have the services of starting right tackle Bryan Bulaga, who is active for the game. Bulaga and backup Jason Spriggs both left Friday’s practice with injuries. Spriggs was carted off while the details of Bulaga’s status remained unknown until the inactive list was announced. Thankfully, Bulaga will suit up and keep the Packers with their preferred starters at both tackle spots, though Spriggs is out for tonight’s game.
Meanwhile, the 49ers had six offensive starters listed as questionable for the contest, but all are active for the game. That includes running back Matt Breida, wide receiver Pierre Garcon, tight end George Kittle, and offensive linemen Joe Staley, Weston Richburg, and Mike Person.
Here are the inactive lists for both teams.
