The Green Bay Packers’ defense forgot to show up in the second quarter of tonight’s game against the San Francisco 49ers. In the first half, they have forced just three third down attempts for the Niners, who converted one; meanwhile, the Green Bay offense is 0-for-5 on third downs themselves, and an early ten-point lead vanished in the second 15 as the Niners pulled ahead 24-20 at the break.

Aaron Rodgers started out hot, with passes of 54 yards to Jimmy Graham and 60 yards to Marquez Valdes-Scantling setting up the team’s two touchdowns that gave them a 17-7 lead. However, the offense failed to take advantage of a pair of 49ers fumbles deep in their own territory, only picking up a pair of field goals on those opportunities.

Through one half, Rodgers has completed 11 of 20 passes for 222 yards and a touchdown, while Davante Adams leads the team in receptions with four for 42 yards and that score. Ty Montgomery added the Packers’ other TD on a two-yard run. Meanwhile, 49ers quarterback C.J. Beathard has a whopping 182 passing yards on just 12 attempts, including three completions to Marquise Goodwin for 114 yards and two scores.
