Thursday Night Football, Week 7: Broncos & Cardinals will play football tonight

That’s about the only thing we can say about this matchup to get you excited for it — it’s theoretically going to be football.

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

It’s a repeat of a 2018 preseason matchup tonight, as teams from the AFC West and NFC West divisions meet up with little expectations of any type on the line. The Denver Broncos and Arizona Cardinals are a combined 3-9 so far this season, with both teams looking like afterthoughts in their respective division races.

As a result, this game doesn’t have the intrigue of an intra-divisional matchup like last week’s Eagles-Giants game, nor the star power of week five’s Patriots-Colts contest. Instead, the main thing that this game has going for it is that it’s football, at least ostensibly.

Oh, and for an added bonus (read that with as much irony as you wish), Joe Buck gets a one-day break from calling the NLCS between the Brewers and Dodgers, since the two teams are on a travel day, so he’ll be calling this game from the desert. Enjoy!
