Packers-Dolphins Week 10 game flexed to 3:25 PM CT kickoff

More eyes should be on this game than before, as the matchup moves into the afternoon time slot.

The Miami Dolphins have been a bit of a surprise in 2018, going 4-3 over the first seven weeks of the season after going 6-10 a year ago. The team’s improvement has made the middle game of the Green Bay Packers’ upcoming five-week stretch look more challenging than it was before the year began.

It also makes the matchup between these two teams at Lambeau Field in week ten a better one for television, and the NFL has decided to move the contest out of the early time slot out to the late afternoon bloc. Per a press release from the league, the Packers-Dolphins game on Sunday, November 11th will now kick off at 3:25 PM Central Time instead of at 12 Noon.

Adding to the benefits of this change is the fact that more fans around the country will be able to see the contest on local television. The game is on CBS, who holds the national TV doubleheader rights for that week’s games. That puts it head-to-head with only the Seahawks-Rams contest, rather than fighting for screen time with three other games on the same network at the same time. Viewership may be cut back based on the four teams’ results in their next two games — which include the Packers-Rams contest this coming Sunday — but for Packers fans not on the West Coast there is a much better chance that you’ll be able to see this game on local TV than there was before.

The Packers and Dolphins last met back in 2014, when Green Bay won in Miami 27-24 thanks to Aaron Rodgers’ fake spike.
