Only once have the Green Bay Packers been a bigger underdog with Aaron Rodgers under center than in today’s game against the Los Angeles Rams. Although the line started with the Rams as 8.5-point favorites and swelled to nine at one point, the spread is down to 7.5 points at game time, a point lower than when the Packers were 8.5-point dogs in the 2014 NFC Championship Game in Seattle.
Of course, Packers fans will be looking for a big performance from Rodgers and the offense, which is getting back to nearly-full strength coming out of the bye week. Rodgers has thrown for 400-plus yards, two-plus touchdowns, and no interceptions in each of the team’s last two games, and there could be opportunities for another big game today. However, the run game will need to be productive against the Los Angeles defense, which is one of the NFL’s poorer units against the run.
