Packers-Vikings Injury Report: Perry & Daniels out, three DBs questionable

A fourth member of the secondary is doubtful as well.

NFL: San Francisco 49ers at Green Bay Packers Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports

The Green Bay Packers could have a fairly solid secondary on Sunday night when they play the Minnesota Vikings or they could have a skeleton crew in the defensive backfield. That is the message to take away from the team’s Friday injury report, where four critical defensive backs were listed with injury statuses.

Two cornerbacks, Bashaud Breeland and Kevin King, are listed as questionable. The two are major contributors in the secondary when healthy, and having either one of them (or both) available for Sunday’s game would be a significant boost for the position group. That would allow the team to avoid giving significant snaps to undrafted rookie Tony Brown, instead rolling out Jaire Alexander, Josh Jackson, and one of the veterans instead. King was estimated as a limited participant for Friday’s injury report, although the team does not practice on Fridays, but Breeland remained listed as an expected “did not participate” player.

At the safety position, Kentrell Brice is listed as questionable, though he was also given the “limited” designation on Friday. Raven Greene is doubtful for the game, however, and was not upgraded after being held out of practice all week. Expect him to sit and yield some snaps to Ibraheim Campbell in a reserve role.

The Packers do have two defensive starters confirmed out for Sunday’s game, however: Mike Daniels, who will likely miss more than just this week’s game, and linebacker Nick Perry, who sat out last Thursday’s contest as well. Montravius Adams and Kyler Fackrell will likely get the starts in place of those two players.

Minnesota has ruled four players out for Sunday, including one starter: safety Andrew Sendejo. The other three players are primarily reserves, though tight end David Morgan plays a significant role as a blocking tight end and linebacker Ben Gedeon has made a few spot starts this year and last.

Tune in on Sunday afternoon to see which of the players listed as game-time decisions will be active for the game.
