On Sunday, the Green Bay Packers return to Lambeau Field to take on the Arizona Cardinals. Seth Cox of Revenge of the Birds was kind enough to answer some of our questions about the Cardinals. Acme Packing Company will post all of his answers over the course of the week.
APC: The Cardinals enter the week with two wins and the inside track to a top-3 pick in next year’s draft. Do you see them improving enough to fall out of that draft position, and what area of the roster do you see them addressing come next April?
No. They lost to the freaking Raiders. Then, the next week they were bombed by the Los Angeles Chargers after jumping out to a 10-0 lead. The Cardinals lead 10-0 after one quarter of play and promptly were boat raced 45-10.
They gave up 45 points in three quarters of play, they scored 45 points in their last three games combined.
They have gotten measurably worse on defense and have improved so little on offense that there seems to be nothing left for the season outside of can they find a way to finish with the first pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.
If they make this game competitive, I’d be happy, but I don’t think that happens on Sunday.
We’d like to thank Seth and Revenge of the Birds for his insight. Be sure to check out our other Q&A session over there, as well as their fantastic coverage of all things Cardinals. As always, keep your internet machines tuned to Acme Packing Company this Sunday for our comprehensive game-day coverage of Cardinals versus Packers.
