Tonight’s game should be a great one for a late-season Thursday night matchup. A pair of teams in the same division that already have double-digit wins will square off this evening as the Kansas City Chiefs host the Los Angeles Chargers.
The Chiefs have an impressive winning streak going against their divisional rival, winning each of the last nine games in the series. The Chargers last won back in 2013, when they defeated the Chiefs 27-24 in San Diego. The current streak includes this season’s opener in week one, which saw Patrick Mahomes announce his arrival with an impressive four-touchdown performance.
Although the Chargers can pull even with Kansas City on record with a win tonight, KC would still hold the tiebreaker and would stay in the lead in the division. That is because the season series would be tied 1-1 but the Chiefs would still have a superior division record. The Chargers have already lost twice (once to the Chiefs and once to the Broncos) while KC has not yet lost in the division.
If Kansas City wins, that will clinch the AFC West, however. They would be two games up on the Chargers with two games to play, but they would lock up the head-to-head tiebreaker.
Join your fellow Packers fans here tonight as we follow along with what is sure to be an excellent game.
