NFL Week 16 Saturday Schedule: AFC playoff seeds hang in the balance

Three teams in the hunt in the AFC are in action today, including one fighting to make it to the top of the conference.

With the Green Bay Packers now eliminated from the playoffs, it’s time we turn our attention to playoff races across the NFL. Saturday’s games in week 16 will have a massive impact on the seedings, particularly in the AFC where one of the top teams and two more franchises fighting for Wild Card positioning are in action.

First, we have an inter-conference matchup, with Washington — still alive in the NFC Wild Card race — traveling to play the 8-6 Tennessee Titans. Tennessee is currently tied with two other teams in the AFC with that record, but the Baltimore Ravens currently hold the tiebreaker over them and the Indianapolis Colts.

After that game, said Ravens will play at the Los Angeles Chargers, who currently sit in 5th position despite being tied with the Kansas City Chiefs for the best record in the conference. KC holds the divisional tiebreaker, however, which kicks the Chargers back down into the Wild Card range.

LA can put some pressure on KC with a win tonight, though, and the Chiefs have a tough matchup at Seattle on Sunday night this week. Philip Rivers and company might be sitting in the top seed at the end of the weekend if things break their way.

Tune in for today’s games throughout the afternoon and evening and enjoy here with your APC community.
