This Sunday, the Green Bay Packers play the against New York Jets in the final road game of their season. Michael Nania of Gang Green Nation was kind enough to answer some of our questions about the Jets and provide some insight into their strengths and weaknesses.
APC: Finally, it’s prediction time. Which team wins on Sunday and why?
This might be the first time I’ve predicted this in months - but I think the Jets will win this game. Now, I’m not sure that’s the result I’d like the most, as I’d greatly enjoy two more games like the one against Houston - close losses propelling the Jets closer to the #1 pick while Sam Darnold plays outstandingly. Two more of those would be great. However, I see the Jets defeating Green Bay. This team is clearly a completely different one with Darnold under center, and he’s playing his best football of the year. He’ll face a Packers team that is 0-7 on the road and has allowed the third worst opposing passer rating away from home in the league - including letting up a ghastly 15:1 touchdown to interception ratio in those games. The lowest passer rating they’ve allowed on the road this season is a 99.
A blowout in either direction would surprise me, but I feel as confident in the Jets winning an upcoming game as I have all year. Part of it is due to Green Bay’s brutal road struggles - but most of it is Sam Darnold.
We’d like to thank Michael for his insight. Be sure to check out our Q&A session over at Gang Green Nation as well as their fantastic coverage of all things Jets. As always, keep your internet machines tuned to Acme Packing Company for our comprehensive game-day coverage of Packers versus Jets.
