With nothing to play for, the Green Bay Packers and New York Jets are competing for pride and to put some good reps on tape. However, the risk of injury is real, and quarterback Aaron Rodgers has already taken some big hits after just 16 minutes of game time.
However, one of Rodgers’ blockers suffered an injury early on Sunday at MetLife Stadium. Left guard Lane Taylor injured his knee late in the first quarter of the game and is questionable to return to the game.
While pass-blocking for Rodgers, Taylor and Bakhtiari were engaged with Jets’ defenders. Bakhtiari rolled up over Taylor’s leg, seemingly bending it back a bit at the knee. Taylor was announced as questionable to return.
Then, early in the second quarter, cornerback Jaire Alexander left the game with an injury of his own. The Packers announced that his issue was a groin injury and he is also questionable to come back in the game.
The Packers currently trail the Jets 14-0 in the second quarter.
UPDATE: Just after halftime, the Packers ruled Alexander out for the game.
