We as Green Bay Packers fans have little standing to make fun of other teams this year. Still, tonight’s Thursday Night Football game is the kind of matchup that makes a casual NFL fan, or a fan of a team in another conference, go searching for something else in the channel guide.
If you must watch football, however, here’s what you’ll be in for. First, the game pits a pair of AFC South teams that are currently out of the playoff hunt and hold a combined record of 10-14. Second, the starting quarterback matchup is Marcus Mariota vs. Cody Kessler. That would have been a lot of fun in 2013 or 2014, when the two were the starters for Oregon and USC, respectively. In the NFL in 2018, that is notably less exciting.
Finally, we have the return of running back Leonard Fournette, who was suspended for last week’s game for jumping off the sidelines and getting into a brawl. Fournette is expected to return to the starting lineup for Jacksonville tonight.
Fun stuff, right?
Tune in if you dare and join us for the game here in our game thread.
