Today, the 4-7-1 Green Bay Packers host the 4-8 Atlanta Falcons in a rematch of the 2016 NFC Championship Game. Both teams are massively underachieving, as teams with Aaron Rodgers and Matt Ryan at quarterback should be performing far better than these two teams have this season.
This game marks the first contest since the Packers fired head coach Mike McCarthy and promoted Joe Philbin to interim head coach. How will the Packers respond? Will the offense find a way to click better on third downs with Philbin calling the plays? Or will Philbin’s first game as a playcaller in 20-plus years be a letdown?
Those are all questions we hope to have answered today as the Packers move on in the post-McCarthy era. We hope you will join us for today’s game here in the game thread. And as always, Go Pack Go!
