Though the Green Bay Packers’ full 2018 regular-season schedule has yet to surface, details of the season open have come to light. According to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky, the Packers host the Chicago Bears in Week 1 on Sunday Night Football.
The prime-time game marks the first of likely many for the Packers, who remain one of the NFL’s marquee television attractions. They last played the Bears in Week 10 of the 2017 season, a 23-16 decision that marked Green Bay’s first victory since losing Aaron Rodgers to a broken collarbone.
Though the Packers have opened recent seasons at home, Lambeau Field hasn’t hosted a Week 1 prime-time game in seven years. That contest, an electric 42-34 win over the New Orleans Saints, followed Green Bay’s victory in Super Bowl XLV the previous season.
The NFL will release the full regular-season schedule for the Packers and the other 31 teams at 7 p.m. CT.
