A few weeks ago, the NFL announced the preseason matchups for the exhibition season in 2018. At that time, we learned that the Green Bay Packers start with a pair of home games, then go on the road for their final two tuneup contests against AFC West teams.
However, what we did not know at that time were the dates and times of those games, but on Friday afternoon the NFL announced the complete, detailed preseason schedule for all 32 teams.
The Packers will start the preseason with a Thursday night affair at home against the Tennessee Titans, in a game that kicks off at 7:00 PM local time. The next week’s game comes seven days later, as they host the Pittsburgh Steelers (once again at 7).
A tough draw for Packers fans in the Central and Eastern time zone awaits in the third game, however, as Green Bay is in Oakland for a 7:30 PM Pacific start the following Friday. That of course means a 9:30 kickoff in Central time, with the only real relief being that it’s on a Friday rather than a weeknight. Finally, the Green and Gold will close out with a common preseason opponent, the Kansas City Chiefs, on the final Thursday of August.
As described above, none of the four games falls on a weekend, but equally disappointing for fans outside the local viewing area is that none are currently slated to be broadcast on national television. That means that Packers fans looking to tune in for the preseason games will need to invest in an NFL Rewind package, which comes with live broadcasts of all the contests in August.
Here’s the full preseason schedule for the Packers:
