Green Bay Packers fans eagerly await the team’s annual Family Night Scrimmage each year, and with good reason. The event is the true opening of training camp for many fans and for new players, who get to experience football at Lambeau Field for the first time — or at least for the first time in a Packers uniform.
On Tuesday afternoon, the Packers announced the date for this year’s Family Night, along with some other details around the start of training camp. Family Night will be held on Saturday, August 4th, with exact times and event schedules to be announced. Tickets will go on sale through Ticketmaster starting at 10 AM Central Time on June 27th. The scrimmage will be the second event at Lambeau over the summer, following the Packers’ annual shareholders meeting on the evening of July 25th.
The team also confirmed that the first practice of training camp will be held on July 26th, with a new activity for fans, the Packers Experience, running outside of Lambeau Field for the first four days of camp.
However, Family Night is not the only Packers-related activity on the evening of August 4th. That same night, the Pro Football Hall of Fame will hold its enshrinement ceremony, which will begin at 7:00 PM Eastern Time. Legendary Packers guard Jerry Kramer will be enshrined as part of the 2018 class, meaning that die-hard Packers fans may have to pick between the two events this year.
