The Green Bay Packers arrived for training camp this week, but not every person on the 90-man roster has officially reported to the St. Norbert College dormitories.

On Tuesday, the team announced that rookie offensive lineman Cole Madison and second-year wide receiver Michael Clark did not join their teammates and were placed on the reserved/did not report list on the eve of the team’s first practice.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Clark will be retiring which adds an unexpected twist to what was expected to be an intense battle at the wide receiver position during camp. Assuming no change of plans, Clark finishes his NFL career with four catches on 14 targets for 41 yards. As for Madison, Rapaport says he is attending to a personal matter and it is not clear when he will join the team.

These moves do open up two additional spots on the 90-man roster though the Packers made no corresponding moves immediately.
