In 2017, the finest outing that Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Hundley had as a passer came against the Pittsburgh Steelers. After taking over for an injured Aaron Rodgers, Hundley recorded a passer rating of more than 90 in just three contests, and his performance in the Packers’ 31-28 loss in Pittsburgh was by far the best, as he completed 17 of 26 passes for 245 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions.
That result was good for a passer rating of 134.3, more than 20 points higher than his next-best outing and a full 63 points better than his overall rating for the year. On Thursday, Hundley will get another chance to face the Steelers, as the Packers host them in a preseason game that is the second exhibition for each team.
This game, however, should see the return of Aaron Rodgers to the Lambeau Field turf. He and head coach Mike McCarthy have both discussed his likely return to the field this week, and it looks like the Packers will try to get all four of their signal-callers some game action. Of course, Rodgers is the most highly-anticipated of the group, as he has not taken snaps at Lambeau since week four a year ago — nearly ten and a half months ago.
Will Rodgers’ return live up to the excitement? Probably not, as this is a preseason game, but be sure to tune in regardless. Here’s how to do it.
