Packers vs. Titans, Preseason 2018: Second half live updates & discussion

Join us for the second half of the Packers’ preseason opener against the Titans.

NFL: Tennessee Titans at Green Bay Packers Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports

The Green Bay Packers’ 2018 season got off to a mixed start this evening as the preseason opener against the Tennessee Titans got underway. The Packers’ defense let Tennessee drive straight down the field and score a touchdown on their opening drive, showing little improvement from Dom Capers’ ugly pass defense a year ago.

However, the offense stuck back quickly behind Brett Hundley, who threw a touchdown pass to Jamaal Williams on the Packers’ first offensive series of the preseason. Hundley hit Davante Adams for a gorgeous 48-yard pass on the drive, and in general he looked sharp throwing the football in the first half.

Where Hundley struggled was in feeling pressure, and he got it off the edge on two plays. One was a strip-sack by rookie Harold Landry, who beat left tackle Kyle Murphy (who recovered the football); the other became a turnover when Gemil President beat Byron Bell off the right side and forced an interception.

DeShone Kizer took over after that series and led a lengthy drive at the end of the first half. but was unable to find the end zone with seconds remaining in the half as Tennessee took a 10-7 lead into the break.
