It’s all systems go for Aaron Rodgers today.
The Green Bay Packers announced their inactives list for today’s game against the Minnesota Vikings, and Aaron Rodgers is not among the seven players on the list. Indeed, Rodgers will be in uniform and in the starting lineup for the game today, something that was almost unfathomable when he left last Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears on a cart.
The two-time MVP missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday, leading to his questionable designation on Friday’s injury report. However, he did practice on Saturday, and apparently his knee responded well to the work.
With Rodgers active but still not 100%, the Packers chose to keep third-string quarterback Tim Boyle active today. DeShone Kizer will back up Rodgers, but Boyle being active gives the team an added insurance policy in case Rodgers needs to leave the game and Kizer also suffers an injury.
Joining Rodgers in the starting lineup is wide receiver Davante Adams, who was also questionable for the game. Adams’ shoulder flared up when he was tackled after a long catch-and-run last Sunday, but he returned to practice on Thursday and will play. Adams caught five passes for 88 yards and a touchdown last week.
Finally, rookie linebacker Oren Burks will not make his debut today. Burks injured his shoulder in warmups prior to the Packers’ third preseason game and has not played in a game since.
