After a wild week two that saw an upset in a rematch of last year’s AFC title game and continued offensive explosions from quarterbacks Ryan Fitzpatrick and Patrick Mahomes, it’s on to week three in the NFL. This week’s games look to be much less exciting on paper than those from last week, but often the most exciting Sundays are those that expected to be duds.
For the Green Bay Packers, a road game in Washington is on the docket in the early time slot, as they try to beat an Alex Smith-led team for the fourth time in five tries. The 49ers went 1-2 against the Packers with Smith under center, while the Packers beat the Chiefs in Smith’s lone start with them against Green Bay.
In the evening time slot, another NFC North team takes the stage, as the Lions host the AFC favorite New England Patriots. Those Pats were on the wrong side of the AFC Championship rematch upset last week, falling 31-20 to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
