College Football Schedule, Week 2 2018: USC-Stanford gets conference play going

After a week of largely out-of-conference matchups, several major college football conferences begin their in-conference slates this week.

NCAA Football: Pac-12 Championship-Southern California vs Stanford Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Last Saturday, college football fans around the country tuned in for the opening week of the sports 2018 season, but we at Acme Packing Company were far more attuned to the roster cuts taking place around the NFL. However, the second Saturday of college ball comes without the distraction of roster cuts, meaning we are free to focus our attentions today on the NFL players of future years.

This week, there aren’t many particularly impressive games. Unlike opening week, which had a top-ten matchup and a few more top-25 clashes, there are just two games between ranked teams, with a single game featuring both teams in the top 20.

That game comes in the evening, as Stanford hosts USC for the start of Pac-12 play. This game is a rematch of the Pac-12 title game from last year, which USC won by a narrow 31-28 margin with future #3 overall pick Sam Darnold under center. The other ranked game comes in the SEC this afternoon, with South Carolina hosting number three Georgia.

Here’s your schedule for today’s games, so go forth and enjoy the day’s college football excitement!
