It’s time. Packers...Bears...Aaron Rodgers...Khalil Mack...week one.
After an interminable wait, the Green Bay Packers finally kick off the 2018 season this evening with another renewal of the NFL’s oldest rivalry. The Packers took a two-game lead in the series by sweeping both games in 2017, taking a lead for the first time in several decades. Tonight they’ll hope to extend that lead to three games as they kick off their 100th season of professional football.
The Bears come in with a great deal of hype after an offseason that saw the front office make sweeping changes. Out is John Fox and in is new head coach Matt Nagy, brought in to develop last year’s first-round pick Mitchell Trubisky. In also are pass-catching weapons like Allen Robinson, Trey Burton, and Taylor Gabriel. And of course there is the recent addition of Khalil Mack to the defense.
But will that result in a Bears team that can challenge the Packers and Vikings for the NFC North crown? We’ll start to find out the answer to that question this evening. Join us for the game here in our game thread and Go Pack Go!
