The Green Bay Packers’ David Bakhtiari has picked up another award. The Pro Football Writers of America has named the sixth-year left tackle to its All-NFL team for the 2018 season.
This marks the second major award Bakhtiari has received since the end of the season. Earlier in January, the Associated Press named him a first-team All-Pro. Bakhtiari earned both honors despite somehow missing the Pro Bowl, a fact that didn’t go unnoticed by the offensive lineman himself. Regardless, the awards illustrate how far Bakhtiari, once an anonymous fourth-round draft pick, has come.
The Pro Football Writers of America votes on its awards differently than the Associated Press. Rather than vote on all eligible players and divide the recipients into teams, the PFWA chooses the best from each conference and then selects the best in the league.
