The Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions meet on Monday night for the first time since week 17 of last season. That game was dominated by the Lions all day, where they won handily 31-0 over a struggling Packers team. This Monday will be their 180th meeting in their storied history. The Pack leads 100 to 72, however the Lions have won the last 4.
Both teams come into week six with one loss each, and in first and second place respectively in the NFL North.
The most notable name on the injury report is Davante Adams. Adams will miss his second game in a row with a toe injury that sidelined him during the Eagles game. Adams said he is dealing with a ton of pain from the injury and the timetable for his return is uncertain right now. This means that Geronimo Allison and Marquez Valdes-Scantling will start for the second week in a row with Jake Kumerow playing in 3 wide receiver sets.
Corey Linsley has cleared the concussion protocol after exiting the game in Dallas last week, and has stated that he will be ready to go for Monday night.
This is good news for Aaron Rodgers who has seen good protection from his line this season. The Lions defensive line has had success this year getting to the quarterback and Linsley starting will make the offensive line’s job a little bit easier.
Jamaal Williams is suiting up, but how much he will see the field is unknown.
As for the defense, Darnell Savage has been dealing with an ankle injury he suffered against the Cowboys, and will not play Monday. The team has stated that his injury does not appear to be serious. Tony Brown is listed as doubtful.
The Lions will be without former Packer Mike Daniels due to a foot injury, which means he will miss his Green Bay homecoming. In the secondary, Amani Oruwariye has been ruled out, and Darius Slay is listed as questionable. Darius Slay not playing would be big for a Packers wide receiving core trying to find some rhythm without Davante Adams. On offense, Danny Amendola and T.J Hockenson are both listed as questionable.
