Week 8 NFL Picks: Packers should be feeling good about their chances in KC

While Green Bay Packers fans have had Davante Adams on the mind with that question in recent weeks, an opposing player’s availability is even more critical to the team’s upcoming game in week eight. That would be Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who has returned to practice this week after dislocating his kneecap just one week ago Thursday night.

The injury was initially expected to keep Mahomes out at least three weeks, sidelining him for this game and a few more. But with the Chiefs running Mahomes through some drills in practice early on this week, the possibility of him playing is something that the Packers must be prepared for.

But if Mahomes plays, is he enough for the Chiefs to beat a hot Packers squad? According to APC’s contributors this week, he won’t be. With his status still uncertain, ten of this week’s 12 Packers pickers are rolling with Green Bay to reach 7-1, getting rookie head coach Matt LaFleur to the halfway point of the season on a positive note. Vegas sees the Packers as the bet to win as well, making them 3.5-point favorites with Mahomes still expected to sit out on Sunday night.
