Packers at Cowboys, Week 5 2019: First half game updates & discussion

After a long week, the Packers are back in action at the site of some of Aaron Rodgers’ most amazing games.

AT&T Stadium has been good to the Green Bay Packers since its construction. The Packers are 4-0 in games played there, with three thrilling fourth-quarter victories over the Cowboys and a win in Super Bowl XLV.

Three of those games were Aaron Rodgers at his finest — a Super Bowl MVP performance and a pair of game-winning drives in the last seconds of the game — while the other was Matt Flynn’s finest moment in Green and Gold.

Today, the Packers return to Jerry World for the third regular season game, with both teams sitting at 3-1 on the young 2019 season. Dak Prescott began this season by playing excellent football, but has thrown an interception in three straight games. Last week was a major blow to the Cowboys’ offensive numbers, as the Saints held them to just 10 points and Prescott went without a touchdown and threw for fewer than seven yards per attempt.

Rodgers, meanwhile, found his groove last week against the Philadelphia Eagles’ bad pass defense, and has had a YPA of 8 or more in each of the past two games. Despite the Packers’ loss, a 422-yard day should give cheeseheads some confidence in him and the Packers’ offense overall moving forward, though they will do so without Davante Adams in today’s game.
