The team’s travel schedule to California is different this week than it was a few weeks back when they lost to the Los Angeles Chargers. Will that yield a different result?
This Sunday night, the Green Bay Packers will play the San Francisco 49ers in the game of the year (so far) in the NFC. This is arguably the highest-leverage game that the green and gold have played in more than two seasons, dating back to their last playoff run following the 2016 season. A win puts Green Bay in the driver’s seat for at least a first-round bye. A loss drops them back into a tie for the division lead with a game remaining against the Minnesota Vikings.
Furthermore, as mentioned above the Packers’ only other trip West this season was a massive letdown. APC isn’t letting that game cloud our expectations of this team, however. This Packers team has beaten four teams that currently have winning records on the season, and their 8-2 record is well-deserved. With great health and added preparation coming out of the bye week, Matt LaFleur’s squad should be in a great position to make a statement in the conference with six games to go.
That’s exactly what APC’s contributors expect, by and large, and 11 of our 13 writers pick the Packers to overcome their three-point underdog status and win the game outright.
