On Sunday, the Green Bay Packers battle for the No. 1 spot in the NFC with the San Francisco 49ers. Kyle Posey of Niners Nation kindly volunteered to answer our questions about the 49ers and provide some insight into their strengths and weaknesses.
APC: If you were game planning against the 49ers, how would you attack them on offense? On defense?
We’ve seen teams sell out to stop the run, and force Jimmy G to beat them. I’d be as aggressive as the Ravens defense plays. Constantly blitzing, forcing the offensive line to pick up all the stunts and movements while the wideouts have to consistently beat 1-on-1 coverage. At full health, it’s tough to stop this offense. They’ve been banged up, though. Against Arizona, the 49ers were without their three best players on offense. Once you shut down the run, I’d try and take all the short throws away and make the offense consistently complete passes down the field.
We’d like to thank Kyle. Be sure to check out the rest of our Q&A session with Niners Nation over the course of the week as well as our Q&A session over there. As always, keep your internet machines tuned to Acme Packing Company this Sunday for our comprehensive game-day coverage of Packers versus 49ers.
