The NFL’s week 12 schedule is short a few teams with the final bye weeks taking place, but long on potential playoff impact. Three huge games are taking place across the NFC, two coming in the early afternoon schedule and the final on Sunday Night Football.
In one of the early games, the Eagles are fighting to keep their playoff hopes alive but face a hot 8-2 Seahawks team looking to pull into a tie with the 49ers atop the NFC West standings. Seattle could deal the 5-5 Eagles’ playoff hopes a crushing blow with a win in Philadelphia today, while Packers fans should be pulling for Philly to get a victory and keep Seattle a little ways back of the Packers in the NFC.
At the same time, the New Orleans Saints will look to effectively finish off the Carolina Panthers, who are scuffling after back-to-back losses and defeats in three of their last four games. That stretch has dropped Carolina to 5-5 as well, and on the road at New Orleans is a tough place to look to get back on track. Of course, the 1-7 Atlanta Falcons won there two weeks ago, so nothing is set in stone.
Finally, the Green Bay Packers take on the San Francisco 49ers in prime time tonight, giving the NFL a true premium matchup. This is the first game between teams with 8 or more wins each this season, and it could be a preview of a playoff game this January. Tune in tonight and all day long for these big games.
